In a move to make banking services a little bit more convenient for the customers, the State Bank of India or SBI has launched WhatsApp Banking Services, said in a Twitter post. Now say no to visiting ATMs, and bank branches and downloading complex applications, just use the instant messaging app to avail the most common SBI banking services offered. This news followed the plain revelation of SBI chairman, Dinesh Khara to go for the WhatsApp way.
SBI Services On WhatsApp
With the captions, “Your bank is now on WhatsApp. Get to know your Account Balance and view Mini Statements on the go”, SBI tweeted.
To use WhatsApp Banking Services users just need to save this name ‘+919022690226’ and say ‘Hi’, as per Bank’s tweet. Mr Khara had announced in a press meet conducted on July 1, “SBI would launch its WhatsApp Banking services for customers soon but did not provide any details on what services will be available. However, we now know after the launch what services the customers can avail.”
Here’s How You Can Avail SBI WhatsApp Banking Services:
- For registering your account, you will have to provide consent to avail of the WhatsApp Banking Services. The number on WhatsApp and registered with the bank should be the same.
If an unregistered customer sends ‘Hi’ then he or she will get the message, “ You are not registered for SBI WhatsApp Banking services. To register and provide your consent for using these services, kindly send the following SMS WAREG A/c No to 917208933148 from your Registered Mobile No with the Bank. You can view the detailed T&C for these services on the bank.sbi.”
- After registering yourself, if you have not received any message then say ‘Hi’ on ‘+919022690226’ or you can reply to a message you automatically receive which is “Dear Customer, You are successfully registered for SBI WhatsApp Banking services.”
- After sending a reply you will receive another message saying:
Dear Customer,
Welcome to SBI Whatsapp Banking Services!
Please choose from any of the options below.
- Account Balance
- Mini Statement
- Deregister from WhatsApp Banking
