After sealing the One-Day International series with 2-1, India starts T20I with 38 runs win in SL Vs IND 1st T20I. India took a 1-0 lead in the three matches series.
Chasing a total of 165 runs for a victory, the Sri Lankan bowled out for 126 runs in 18.3 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar bowled excellent in the death overs. Debutant Charith Asalanka played alone hand of 44 off just 26 runs before Chahar sent him to the dressing room in the 16th over. He was the only Sri Lankan batsman who dominated Indian bowlers and kept his team in the match.

Vice-captain Bhuvi picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs from his 3.3 overs while Chahar bagged a couple. Yuzvendra Chahal, Pandya brothers, and debutant Varun Chakravarthy also chipped in with a wicket each.
While batting, Suryakumar Yadav scored another attractive half-century. It was Surya’s second T20I half-century. Additionally, skipper Shikhar Dhawan (46 off 38 balls), Sanju Samson (27 off 20 balls), and Ishan Kishan (20 not out off 14 balls) contributed for India.
Prithvi Shaw failed to open his account in T20 International debut as Dushmantha Chammera‘s (2/24 in 4 overs) outswinger found the edge of his bat off the very first delivery of the match. After this, Dhawan and Surya added 62 partnerships at a crucial stage but the latter’s dismissal surely cost India about 15-20 extra runs.
The second match of the series will be played at the same venue on July 27.
