To dispell myths among people related to the deadly coronavirus ‘Ministers’ of Telangana government took the step forward. During a ‘Chicken and Egg‘ mela held in Hyderabad on Friday, the Ministers took to action.
As there is a common myth among people that the virus spreads through consumption of poultry products the ministers themselves ate the chicken. During the mela chicken and egg dishes were served for free to the public to give them the message.
KT Rama Rao, Minister for Industry, Information Technology and Municipal Administration, E Rajender, Minister of Health, Srinivas Goud, Minister of Excise and MP Ranjit Reddy ate chicken and egg on the stage. People are avoiding the consumption of chicken and egg due to the rumors spread on social media which has affected the poultry sector.
The event jointly organized by National Egg Coordination Committee, Telangana Poultry Breeders Association and Telangana Poultry Federation along with leading poultry breeders was an effort by the industry to clarify all the myths. The central government has already given a green nod to chicken consumption.
