World’s number 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic and his wife have also fallen prey to the deadly COVID-19. However, unlike other, the tennis star has himself being responsible for it and has also issued an apology for it. Recently Djokovic participated in the exhibition tournament which he hosted in the Balkans.
In an open apology, the Serbian tennis star said that he and organizers “were wrong” to go ahead with the event. The Adria Tour event in which he participated saw minimal adherence to social distancing norms. While his wife Jelena was also positive his kids tested negative. It is being reported that 3 other players from the tournament have tested positive.
“I am so deeply sorry our tournament has caused harm”, said Djokovic. As per reports from NDTV Sports players were filmed dancing bare-top in a nightclub and embracing each other over the net during the tour. After Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, and Viktor Troicki, Djokovic is the 4th tennis star to fall prey to the virus.

While all others associated with the tour are asked to be tested Djokovic and his wife has gone into 14-day quarantine. The couple would be tested again in the 5 days and then probably after the 14th day.
