Sardar Vallabhbhai Stadium earlier known as Motera stadium would be the world’s largest cricket ground once it opens. The stadium would have a capacity of seating 1.10 lakh people. The Motera stadium was demolished way back in 2015 and went under re-construction.
“He (Modi) said we will have millions and millions of people. My only problem is that last night we probably had 40 or 50,000 people… I’m not going to feel so good… There will be five to seven million people just from the airport to the new stadium (in Ahmedabad),” Trump said as quoted by The Wire.
Trump along with Prime Minister Modi would be inaugurating the stadium during his visit. The stadium built at an estimated amount of US$ 100 million, is set to beat the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is the largest cricket stadium in the world.
