While George Floyd’s death created a protest that is yet to settle the U.S. police have shown another brutality. From Minneapolis in Floyd’s case to Atlanta in Georgia now only the place has changed and not the atrocities of police on black. A black man has been shot by the police in Atalanta.
27 years old Rayshard Brooks was shot by the police as he tried to escape arrest at Wendy’s (international fast food restaurant chain). As per police Brooks was shot after he snatched an officer’s Taser and pointed it back at the officer while fleeing. The incident took place on Friday night.
As per reports from Hindustan Times, Atlanta police were called to a restaurant on a complaint that a man was sleeping in a car blocking the drive-thru lane as customers waited in line. The police has taken some quick actions to settle things up.
“In a circumstance like this where an officer is involved in the use of deadly force, the public has a right to know what happened”, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vic Reynolds. Meanwhile, the police officer who shot brooks has been sacked. The protests are going on in the city with protestors setting on fire the restaurant. After George Floyd’s death another black man was killed by the U.S police on Friday fueling the protest further in the country.
