You know how social media is. Once a trend is spotted, it never dies until all the squads get bored with it. Now, one such trend has started buzzing the digital world called Masterdating. Well, don’t confuse these words with other habits. It is a pretty new term, but it is totally related to dating. Let’s get into the details.
What is Masterdating?
Masterdating is a trending new bold move towards self-love. Rather than what you think, it is about taking yourself out on a date. Today’s pop culture will never be able to forget this word ever, as social media is full of videos of people showing off their masterdating videos.
They treat themselves to fancy dinners at excellent restaurants, visit bars, explore museums, or enjoy parks. This trend also involves giving themselves unique gifts and treats in addition to these outings to help them feel more independent. This practice can be seen as a dedicated effort to learn more about who they indeed are, take care of their well-being, and face moments of being alone with courage.
“Taking yourself out on dates is an exercise in self-love and self-compassion. You’re teaching yourself about your own needs, requirements, and the things that bring you joy. It’s about uncovering your own passions,” said Amy Nobile, suggesting going on a masterdate atleast once in a week, as quoted by India Today.

Definition of Masterdating
Urban Dictionary (2010) defines Masterdating as “When a person (typically a guy) goes out to see a movie or visits a theme park, or place otherwise mostly occupied by couples or friends, but does this alone. This can cause sympathy from other people who watch them as they purchase tickets or enter the area. This is different from when a person grabs a cup of coffee, or sits in a coffee shop alone for a few minutes, or rents a movie, or eats fast food.”
