Easing the stress on the students preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) the Union HRD Ministry has made an important announcement. HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Tweeted about the relations in terms of the class 12th percentage criteria for admission into NITs (National Institute of Technologies) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
Due to prevailing circumstances, Central Seat Allocation Board (#CSAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for admissions to NITs and other #CFTIs.

As per the tweet by HRD minister “JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates will now only need to obtain a passing certificate in class XII examination irrespective of the marks obtained”. The 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 would be waived off for admissions to be done this year.

Usually, for admission to these institutes through JEE Main exam, one has to obtain 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 (or an equivalent) Board examination or should figure out in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12 (or equivalent) board examination.

The decision has been taken by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) that conducts admission counseling in these institutes. This comes after the Joint Admission Board decided that the candidates who will clear the JEE Advanced will be eligible for admission to IITs irrespective of their class 12 marks.
