CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025: Apply Online Before October 23

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited online applications for the Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship 2025. This initiative is aimed at encouraging the education of meritorious girls who passed their Class 10 exam under CBSE and are pursuing studies in Classes 11 and 12. The last date to apply for the scheme is October 23, 2025.

About the Scholarship Scheme

The Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship Scheme is designed to support families that prioritize the education of their only daughter. To be eligible, students must have scored a minimum of 70% marks in Class 10 and must currently be enrolled in Classes 11 and 12 under a CBSE-affiliated school.

This year, the program is available under two categories:

  • Fresh Applications (2025): For girls who passed Class 10 in 2025 and are now studying in Class 11.
  • Renewals (2024): For students who were awarded the scholarship last year and wish to continue receiving it for Class 12.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship, students must meet the following conditions:

  • The applicant should be the only child of her parents.
  • Must have secured 70% or above marks in the Class 10 CBSE examination.
  • The school of study must be affiliated with CBSE.
  • Tuition fees in Class 10 should not exceed ₹2,500 per month. For Class 11 and 12, the limit is ₹3,000 per month (NRI students are provided up to ₹6,000 relaxation).
  • The family’s annual income must not be more than ₹8 lakh.
  • Consistent attendance and good conduct in school are essential.

Benefits and Application Process

Selected students will receive ₹500 per month for up to two years. The scholarship is renewable after Class 11 if the student secures at least 70% marks and gets promoted to Class 12.

The application process is completely online. After submission, the student’s school will verify the details. Applications that remain incomplete or unverified will not be considered. Parents are required to provide an affidavit of income (on notarized stamp paper) along with school fee receipts during the application process.
