As the coronavirus is spreading fast rumors and myths associated with are also getting flame. Clearing that air Union Ministry of Animal Husbandry has clarified a common myth. The ministry has said that the consumption of ‘chicken’ is safe.
As per the ministry chicken may be considered safe as no report has so far confirmed its involvement in coronavirus outbreak. The virus which has so far killed over 900 people is spreading thick and fast.

Animal Husbandry Commissioner Praveen Malik on Monday wrote a letter to Vijay Sardana, Advisor, Poultry Federation of India. In the letter, he said that poultry was not found to be involved in the transmission of 2019 nCov. The letter also mentioned that similar viral outbreaks of coronavirus in the past (SARS 2002-03, MERS 2012-13) or corona-associated common cold had no involvement of poultry and poultry products world over.
