While the tussle between the Lt. Governor and Delhi government is on in regards to treatment in Delhi’s hospitals, the Deputy CM has made a troubling prediction. Deputy Chief Minister (CM) of Delhi Manish Sisodia Delhi alone would have 5.5 lakh cases of COVID-19.
He made the statement while defending his government’s move to reserve Delhi’s hospitals for Delhites. He said that the doubling rate in the capital is around 12 to 13 days. There would be a need for 80,000 beds in hospitals by the end of July, he added.
“5.5 lakh COVID-19 cases are expected in Delhi by July 31. We will need 80,000 beds by then”, said Sisodia while taking to the reports. Delhi at present has 29,943 cases. The death count is 874. At the national level also the cases are going up at a fast pace.
India who is on the 5th spot in terms of cases in the world has now started to witness around 10,000 cases a day. With over 2.67 lakh cases it is racing towards that 3 lakh mark. The current national death toll is 7,478.
