Pictures of 1000s of devotees standing in the water with toxic foam in their vicinity have been doing the rounds on the web. People, early morning, had gathered at the banks of river Yamuna to offer prayers on the last day of Chhath Puja.
As per the ritual also called “Arghya”, devotees worship Sun God early in the morning. In the pictures, thick smelly foam can be seen floating on the water of Yamuna as far as one can see.
