Railway Ministry has suspended Non Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) and Level 1 Exams after protests have been waged by aspirants in states of Jharkhand, Bihar and UP.
The aspirants are protesting against result of first CBT that was held last year. Ministry has decided to set up a high power committee to address the concerns raised by aspirants.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that report will be submitted before March 4. He stated, “The committee will give recommendations on results and methodology used for short-listing candidates for second stage CBT without affecting shortlisted candidates.”
The second stage of RRB NTPC exam was scheduled to be conducted next month and the Centre has asked aspirants to submit the concerns by February 16.

In protest, 4 bogies of an empty train were set on fire and train routes were affected for three consecutive days. Railway properties at Jehanabad, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Samastipur, Chappra and Sasaram districts were damaged.
Senior Superintendent Gaya Aditya Kumar said, “As soon as the Shramjeevi Express arrived at the local station, they pelted stones at the train.”
Police used tear gas shell and lathi charged to disperse them. The students then pelted stones towards the police. “The train was stationary, empty at that time and parked in yard. No injuries were reported from the incident. We have identified some of the trouble mongers”, the SSP added.
Ashwini Vaishnav said, “I am telling the aspirants that this is their own property. Why are they destroying something that is their own? However, authorities will follow due process if public property is damaged.”
Rahul Gandhi has spoken for students and showed his support on Twitter. He asked the aspirants to not damage public property and he will give voice to their demands. It is not the first time when Rahul Gandhi has came forward for helping the youth and gave them his voice.
