Residents of the Blackhall Colliery village, in the UK, claim that they have been finding bundles of £20 notes lying on the streets since 2014, unknown of the fact who puts them there. Durham Police said a total of £26,000 ($33,500, 30,300 euros) had been found over the past five years — 13 packages of £2,000 in £20 notes.

“These bundles are always left in plain sight such as on pavements and discovered by random members of the public,” says Detective Constable John Forster adding that the villagers hand over the money to them. Villagers speculate that a “Blackhall Santa” has been dropping these cash bundles by.
