After advising unemployed youths to rear cows (and not to cry of unemployment) and saying that satellite television existed in the time of the Mahabharata the Tripura Chief Minister (CM) has done it again. CM Biplab Deb has once again hit controversy with other intelligent remarks (that’s what he thinks).
The CM has now shown his prejudice against the Sikhs and Jats saying them less brainy. Punjabis and Jats are physically strong but less brainy while Bengalis are known as very intelligent, said the CM. Addressing a program at Agartala Press Club on Sunday he made these remarks. He was trying to explain that every community in India is known with a certain type and character.
In a video clip of his speech that is going viral he is heard saying, “When we talk about the people of Punjab, we say he’s a Punjabi, a Sardar. They may have less intelligence but are very strong. One can’t win them over by strength but with love and affection. A large number of Jats live in Haryana. So what do people say about Jats? Jats are less intelligent but are very healthy. If one challenges a Jat, he will bring a gun from his house. He issued apologies for his remarks.
However, this came after he attracted much criticism and demand for resignation from the side of the 2 communities. Social media also criticized this prejudiced view of the CM and praised the 2 communities. While Deb is known for his controversial remarks he is regularly taken under the hammer on social media.
