A new study by the University of Exeter has revealed that living in large towns and cities near to the coastline is associated with enhanced mental health for those in the lowest-earning households. The study used data from the Health Survey for England to make a comparison between the mental health state of people who live close to the sea with those who live far away. Notably, approximately one in six adults in England suffer from mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression.
